about me
my interests from an early age have been football, both watching and playing and cars.  I am still an avid bolton wanderers fan and still dream of owning a garage full of high performance cars!!

my childhood years were spent mostly making models using lego (the first thing I did was forget about the instructions and build something using my imagination!)  this progressed onto sketch work/painting during art lessons at school and at home.  my career focus became clear during my ‘a’ level study in product design and as a result I am here at preston university studying for my final year.

overview
as a result of changing lifestyles and current economical constraints linked to a specific market gap, i have designed a unit which provides secure parking for superbikes.

the moto-lok offers a user friendly interface to all types of superbike, incorporating easy payment operation and a simple locking mechanism. the moto-lok consists of a steel framed structure covered in a powder coated steel shell. the base is secured to the floor via anchor points. the superbike is positioned into the moto-lok via a pivot lock which secures the front wheel of the bike, a card reader provides the interface with the end user for payment and duration of stay etc. the moto-lok can be provided as either singular or modular units.

overview
ongoing climate change and how we utilise our leisure time identified a market opportunity with regard to the use of outdoor pools in the uk.

my product provides a green solution to the efficient heating of outdoor pools. the unit comprises of a pump, powered by solar panels, which draws cool water from the pool and circulates it through a series of pipes contained within a black membrane extended over the adjacent floor area to the unit. solar heat slowly warms the water passing through the membrane before it is pumped back in to the pool for the cycle to begin again. all these feature items are contained within a lightweight and portable plastic housing incorporating fold away solar panels.
career aspirations
on achieving my degree I hope to gain employment with a major company specialising in an area I have a keen interest in. an example of this would be car design or technology led items such as mobile phones and personal  computers, specifically the link between function and ergonomics.
