from an early age i've been somewhat obsessed with design, whether it be spending hours drawing various characters from tv programs, or taking things apart to see how they work, i was always told i had an inquisitive mind, but, i was only ever looking for the answer to one question, that question being why?.
why should something look like this?, why does this work?, often being unable to find answers from parents or other family members. to this day i still question everything, why?, working with the phrase, 'there is more than one way to design something', stuck in my mind at all times, but by now i am able to find some of the answers my self.

energy consumption in the uk (and the rest of the world) keeps on increasing, with energy usage in the domestic sector rising 12% since 1990 in spite of government strategies and existing 'energy saving' technologies. 
in this project i intend to establish a solution to increase energy reduction/saving technologies and increase energy awareness in the home.

overview have you ever noticed how your battery on your phone, ipod, laptop etc. only dies when you need it the most? - and you’re nowhere near a power supply.
 in this project i will be looking at combatting this by looking at creating power without the use of mains electricity and how to charge consumer electronics away from the home- making mobile electronics completely mobile.

i've always been interested in doing freelance work whenever time permits, i see this as extremely beneficial and helps gain valuable experience. working with a team, both at college, and at university has also been very beneficial, being able to bounce ideas back off other creative minds makes you look at your ideas from another persons perspective.
