about me
i enjoy the more creative aspects in life and am passionate about design. in the past i have built up interests in digital painting, graphic design, electronics and how things work which in turn steered me greatly towards studying product design at university.

i find identifying and solving an issue via a product very satisfying and have gained skills in, and enjoy, all aspects of the design process including, research and identifying the problem area, concept generation, team analysis, model making, concept development, testing, material analysis, cad design, digital renderings and painting and presentations.

i thrive in the product design environment and hope to continue utilising my skills within a successful career.

overview
modern workplaces and environments are largely busy and stressful places. recent events such as the recession have also caused increased pressures on lives along with more densely populated inner cities meaning people lack personal space. stress and anxiety is a key cause of headaches with 100% of the uk’s population getting a headache at least once a year.

the product designed, tranquillity, combines the use of pads, either heating or cooling the head, which provide soothing headache relief, with linked bluetooth earpieces. this gives a modern connected product which is linked to the users mobile phone allowing them to adapt their personal space to block out the world whilst they relax.

overview
indoor air is around 70% more polluted than outdoor air. Insulated, low air flow homes cause bacteria, fumes and particle matter to collect and linger making the home a health risk. air purifiers which are currently on the market which could currently help towards improving people’s health have a number of issues. they are large in size, which is unappealing as they become an unwanted features within homes, generally boxed shaped and aesthetically unappealing, are weighty due to their forms therefore hard to move around and lack any user interaction features.

the product designed, lily, gives the user a compact, modern design which removes bacteria, odours, harmful gases and particle matter in a user interactive desktop sized body.
career aspirations
in the future i would like to design as i am now and would enjoy a career which is challenging and allows me to work in a design team to continue to design products. i have an interest in sustainability and would like to incorporate this into all of my design work.

my preferred design area would be the medical or health product design industries. i have a large interest in these areas which i have explored and enhanced whilst studying at university. i would however enjoy any career in product design.
