about me
since a very young age i have always relied on my imagination to keep me entertained. as an only child i have always kept my self busy and entertained with various crafts and art projects. this interest has impacted on my life choices, choosing to study art and ceramics at a-level then a btec in photography before finally choosing product design at degree level. i have a strong passion for learning which means i enjoy researching which i find to be critical in the design process. i still enjoy doing art and crafts in my spare time, my passion at the moment is jewelry making which i am hoping to incorporate into my final year project.

overview
as we age our memories deteriorate to differing degrees depending on the individual. it can vary be from not remembering the name of an acquaintance to more serious things such as not taking medication to forgetting appointments. not only can forgetting things be frustrating it can also impede on the way people live they're lives and the quality of life they have.

the cricket reminder aims to help people (particularly the elderly) remember to do things in a discreet, practical and non 'beige' way. the cricket is a wearable device, the ladies version worn around the neck and the gents is provided with a multi-way clip. the device is set with a digital clock on the reverse. as the reminder time approaches, the l.c.d. screen changes colour as a subtle indicator. at the set time an alarm and vibration activate simultaneously.

overview
this product is aimed at toddlers and they're parents alike. through my research i found that although there is a problem with many toddlers waking in the night there are no products on the aimed at this particular market.
when a toddler wakes in the night, she seeks comfort usually from a parent, this then disrupt s both the child and parents sleep and can lead to additional problems such as separation anxiety.

bear necessity aims to comfort the toddler on awakening. this achieved using a motion sensor inside. when activated the bear instantly soothes the child with calming music and relaxing lights.

bear necessity's monkey friend is a secondary module which works in conjunction with the bear when activated. using infra-red the monkey night light emits a subtle glow to give the child some comfort from the light without being over stimulating.
career aspirations
i am hoping to develop a career within a design setting. i am currently sending my cv to numerous companies with this hope in mind. i thrive on a challenge, love to learn new skills and adapt the ones i have previously gained. i have a particular interest in design research, presentation and my enjoyment of cad is continually growing.
